Cucumber
I have so much to write about I have to write a list so here is a small glossary? chapter preview? synopsis? prologue? blurb? Whats the bloody name for it?! Its an index or summery thats a better word. "Gawsh Rachel why are you so stupid?", *mean girls voice*.
1. Blood
2. Blood Reaction
3. The dugs
4. Cucumbers
5. Anything else i come up with on the way
6.Own clothes day.
First of all blood. In a nutshell, here is the message I will throw at you in this messages.
"GIVE BLOOD, IT SAVES LIVES!"
Platelets can be used in bone marrow failure, post transplant and chemotherapy treatments, and leukaemia. Platelets can be of huge benefit to the recipient. (MOI)
Those are the main two regarding me but there is also "Plasma" too which I would write about but I don't know much about it at all. Without blood transfusions I would probably be shrivelled up in a ball on my bed. So, I hear your brains rattle with boredom "get to the point." Okay well its going to be cheesy. Everytime I look up at my blood bag, I think of the kind soul who took their time to go to give their blood. I promise you it does not hurt, I've have enough needles in my arm to know that, my mum gives blood and she says its actually very relaxing and you get a nice cup o' tea and a biscuit afterwards! It's free and it's just such a nice thing to do and its greatly received. Think about it this way your lying on a bed, when you get up you are a hero.

I mentioned before that I miss my dogs, I still do and last night I got confirmation that they miss me too! My mum put the phone down to Milly and Taylor's ear and I did in a dog chat voice "Milllllieeeee, Taaayleeurrr." Then they got up from their naps looked at the phone and nudged it. THERE IS LOVE!
Onto the cucumber story. I send my mum out to get me cucumber for my eyes, because they really hurt with straining them all the time - writing this blog isn't helping them what so ever but be excited for the video because me and my mum found it hilarious. You may not even flinch but... just watch it. Also I would like to add, yes I do look like a lump on a bed and please ignore my rapidly receding hairline!

First of all blood. In a nutshell, here is the message I will throw at you in this messages.
"GIVE BLOOD, IT SAVES LIVES!"
Okay so, where to begin. Since I have been here I have had 8 bags of red blood cells and two bags of platelets. If you don't know what these are already, I will explain soon, have no fear! There are 8 different blood groups. The most popular is O+ and the least popular is AB-. After being diagnosed with a rare cancer I was then told my blood type and thought "TYPICAL!". Can you guess? No you're wrong. I am B- ... the second rarest blood blood group in the UK, with only 2% of people with the same as me! Along the blood transfusion road I've had a look up at the bag they have given me and it sometimes isn't my own blood group. This is because the bloods are compatible still but there are no B- bags left! Mare! If you were to give blood your cells are spilt up with a splitter machine... not a clue how they are split but it sounds too complicated, so we will go into that another day. Here is a broken down example of how your blood is saving someones life.
Red Cells
The main function of these are to drop of oxygen at every station in the body. When I had/have anaemia I get lightheaded when I stand up, I get headaches and I get tired when walking e.g.. shortness of breath. This is because I don't have enough oxygen in my body. Fortunately I have only stood up once and spewed everywhere because of this - that would be called severe anaemia. Red cells are essential after an accident, surgery, child birth or in situations like myself.
Platelets
Also, when you see an advert on TV saying "give blood now, save a life." I usually wouldn't have thought twice about doing it "ew needle no, I can't be bothered no, I'm too busy not got time for that, maybe the next time." You can't just think that someone else will do it for you, only 4% of the people in UK actually give blood. It could be you that needs it one day. Give blood. Give Life. Watch this video. Please!!
Are we still on the topic of blood? Sorry, I didn't mean to go on about that for so long! Today, I had a bit of a reaction to my blood, resulting to another fever. All that happened was that I was given an anti-histemean and I might have to change my antibiotics.
My dogs hate each other but I am in possession of this picture that never fails to amuse. Firstly I was not involved in taking this picture. It was my family trying to create a bond between the two. So as the doggies slept someone put milly's leg over Taylor and it looks like they are spooning (obviously not in a obscene way, we are not sick) for just a bit of top family bantré.
Anyway, thats more than enough writing for one day.
